Registered Massage Therapy
Massage therapy at The Core is a refined, personalized experience designed to restore balance, ease tension, and support your body’s natural ability to heal. Our experienced team of Registered Massage Therapists takes a thoughtful, intuitive approach - adapting each treatment to your unique needs, preferences, and goals.
From deeply therapeutic work to profoundly relaxing sessions, our treatments are crafted to calm the nervous system, release restrictions within the muscles and fascia, and improve overall movement and function. Each session invites you to slow down, reconnect with your body, and experience lasting relief.
Our therapists draw from a wide range of specialized techniques, including myofascial and fascial release, Swedish and deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, active pin and stretch, muscle stripping, passive range of motion, and postural balancing. For more specialized care, we also offer TMJ and intraoral (buccal) massage, hot stone therapy, hydrotherapy applications, remedial exercises, and guided deep breathing.
Whether you are seeking restoration, recovery, or relaxation, massage therapy at The Core offers a sophisticated, results-focused experience that supports both physical well-being and deep relaxation.
Physiotherapy- Standard Exercise/Movement Based
Active and exercise based physiotherapy
Focus is on active rehabilitation and long-term self-care strategies. The goal is to build confidence, resilience, and sustainable movement rather than passive or short-term relief.
During this session, we will work together on improving movement, reducing pain, and restoring function through a combination of guided self-inquiry, movement awareness, and individualized exercise therapy.
Each session begins with a detailed assessment that explores not only symptoms, but also how your body responds to movement, load, stress, and daily activities. Treatment emphasizes helping you better understand your body and actively participate in your recovery.
Sessions may include:
• Movement assessment and retraining
• Progressive, individualized exercise programs
• Education to improve body awareness and self-management
• Load management and return-to-activity guidance
• Support for nervous system regulation when appropriate
Myofascial Release: Physio
Choose this if you are looking to get help for acute/chronic pain, sports injuries, TMJ pain, headaches, migraines, complex trauma, psychosomatic involvement where complex pain could be because of mental health challenges or just looking to experience John Barnes Myofascial Release Approach.
Myofascial Release is a safe and effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. This essential “time element” has to do with the viscous flow and the piezoelectric phenomenon: a low load (gentle pressure) applied slowly will allow a viscoelastic medium (fascia) to elongate.
Trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures create Myofascial restrictions that can produce tensile pressures of approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch on pain sensitive structures that do not show up in many of the standard tests (x-rays, myelograms, CAT scans, electromyography, etc.)
The use of Myofascial Release allows the therapist to look at each patient as a unique individual. It is a combination of a multitude of Myofascial Release techniques and movement therapy. The importance is given to promote independence through education in proper body mechanics and movement, self treatment instruction, enhancement of strength, improved flexibility, and postural and movement awareness.
Hands-On Treatment
Each Myofascial Release Treatment session is performed directly on skin without oils, creams or machinery. This enables the therapist to accurately detect fascial restrictions and apply the appropriate amount of sustained pressure to facilitate release of the fascia.
Please bring shorts, tank tops/sports bra along for the session.
Craniosacral Therapy: Physio
Craniosacral Therapy works with the craniosacral system—the membranes, bones, cerebrospinal fluid, and connective tissues that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.
Craniosacral Approach:
• Recognizes the body as intelligent and self-correcting
• Works not only with physical restrictions, but also with emotional, neurological, and developmental patterns
• Uses gentle, precise touch combined with deep listening and presence
• Allows healing to unfold by following the body’s priorities rather than imposing techniques
It is believed that unresolved physical or emotional experiences—especially early life or trauma—can be held in tissues and the nervous system. By creating safety and awareness, the body is able to release, reorganize, and integrate these patterns naturally.
What a Patient Might Experience
Patients commonly report
• Deep relaxation or a meditative state
• A sense of calm, clarity, or emotional release
• Reduced pain or pressure (head, neck, jaw, pelvis)
• Improved sleep, balance, or nervous system regulation
• Feeling more connected and present in their body
Sessions are usually done fully clothed, with the therapist’s hands resting lightly on areas such as the head, sacrum, spine, or areas of restriction.
Vestibular Therapy : Physio
Vestibular Physiotherapy is focused on treating dizziness, vertigo, balance problems, and unsteadiness related to the inner ear, brain, or nervous system.
Treatment begins with a thorough assessment to understand the cause of your symptoms, which may include benign positional vertigo (BPPV), vestibular hypofunction, post-concussion symptoms, or persistent dizziness. Based on this assessment, your treatment plan is tailored specifically to you.
Sessions may include:
• Gentle repositioning techniques for vertigo
• Balance and coordination exercises
• Eye–head movement exercises
• Nervous system regulation and breathing strategies
• Education to help you understand and manage your symptoms safely
The goal of Vestibular Physiotherapy is to help reduce dizziness, improve balance and confidence with movement, and support a gradual return to daily activities, sport, and work. Treatment is progressive, evidence-informed, and adapted to your comfort and tolerance.
Counselling / Coaching
Counselling offers a safe space for clients to explore difficulties they are facing in their daily lives where they are able to feel heard and be seen without judgement. Our Licensed Registered Professional Counsellor, uses an individualized integrative therapy approach combining
techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Therapy, and
Psychoanalytic Therapy.
Certified Life Coach sessions designed to help ambitious achievers meet the goals and
outcomes that will bring them success and
fulfillment in any and all areas of life. Together, you will clarify goals and identify obstacles and problematic behaviors in order to create an
action plan to achieve your desired results
When asked the difference between Counselling and life Coaching, one could explain that Coaching takes the client’s current starting point as an acceptable neutral ground and is more action-based from that point onward. A life coach enables the person receiving treatment to take control of their life and take action to steer it toward their goals.
